Carling cup second round draw: Liverpool away at Exeter, Everton face Sheffield United

The second round carling cup fixtures took Liverpool to League One club; Exeter while their rivals, Everton will start the campaign at home by facing Sheffield United. The Carling cup second round draw have been scheduled to start on the week commencing 22 August 2011. The 7 times Carling cup champions; Liverpool will be coming from premier league match against Arsenal at Emirates stadium, scheduled on 20 August 2011. Most of first team Liverpool player might be rested for this tie. The eight premier league club taking part in Champions league or Europa cup will join league cup on third round. The Carling cup competition involve 20 premier league clubs and 72 clubs from football league. The new starting season is going to be very competitive and Carling cup will be more vital cup as a winner will qualify for UEFA Europa League if has not qualify through premier league and not won FA cup.

Carling cup rules, unlike FA cup, only one match will be played, draw match will be decided on extra time and penalty shoot-out. Liverpool FC needs to try and finish the game during 90 minutes or even at extra time to avoid embarrassment they suffered last season after being knocked out by Northampton in third round. Liverpool have strengthen their squad by signing Charles Adam, Alexander Doni, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson and hope to perform better this season.
In the last Carling cup match, Sheff Wed beat Blackpool 4-2 on penalty after 0-0 score in 120 minutes and they will play Blackburn on second round.

International Friendly: Goetze impress, Neymar goal not enough as Germany beats Brazil 3-2, Video Highlights

Germany beat Brazil 3-2 in international friendly match held in Stuttgart for the first time in 18 years and end the win less trend over the visitors. Bastian Schweinsteiger opened the score from a penalty spot on 61st minute before The 19 years-old Mario Goetze beat Julio Cesar to score the second goal on 67th minute. Four minute later Robinho pulled one back. The third Germany goal came from Andre Schuerrle on 80th minute before Neymar get a consolation goal.
Robinho and Neymar goals could not stop Germany ended their 18 years win less spell in Germany vs Brazil encounters. Despite improvement on second half the South American giants under Mano Menezes need to work hard and avoid the 2011 Copa America tragedy.

Pre-Premier league: Manchester United overcome Manchester City in Community Shield in derby

Manchester United beat Manchester City 3-2 in community shield
Manchester United came from 2 goals down to win 3-2 at Wembley Stadium in thriller come back which showed the winning mentality of the Premier league champions. Earlier big spending Manchester City went ahead thank to goals from Joleon Lescott and Edin Dzeko. Chris Smalling pulled one back on 52 minute before Nani superb performance gave Manchester United an equalizer on 58 minute. It was Nani again who earn the Community Shield for Man Utd with his second goal of the game third for United.

David De Gea on Edwin van der Sar shoes

The Spanish under 21 goalkeeper ability to replace Edwin van der Sar was put to question as the two Manchester City are partily his fault. Many football fans seemed to confident that Edwin van der Sar would have served those balls. De Gea has to learn and caught up quickly if he has to match Edwin van der Sar’s record.
